Alec Blue Taddiken Julias

Alec Blue Taddiken Julias, age 34, passed away on August 15, 2026, in Boulder, CO.

Alec was born on March 3, 1992 in Buffalo, NY, to Sarah (Taddiken) Julias and the late Roger Julias. He was the older brother of Tatyana and Violet (Julias). He spent his childhood in Austin, TX, his high school years on the Big Island of Hawai'i, and the last 15 years of his life in Colorado. There are no words for how much we miss Alec or for the empty space he leaves behind.

To know Alec was to know the sensitive and kind spirit he had from the very beginning. He was curious, funny, creative, loving, and uniquely himself.

His passion for learning knew no bounds. Alec learned to read at an early age, and he remained a voracious reader throughout his life. One of his first chapter-book loves was Harry Potter, which he and his mom would read together at night. After being tucked into bed, Alec would sneak the book under his covers and read ahead on his own, often reading late into the night and well beyond where they had stopped reading together. He read so much that he had an extraordinary vocabulary and would often surprise adults by using new words correctly in conversation, even though he didn't always pronounce them correctly!

Alec started making and editing videos in elementary school and continued creating music, filming and editing videos, and exploring photography throughout his life. In the last several years, he especially loved time-lapse photography and spent many hours capturing the beauty and simplicity of places that were special to him.

Alec had a goofy and completely silly side that those who knew him well got to see. More than anything, though, Alec had a huge heart. He was thoughtful, sweet, and sensitive, and had a way of noticing something beautiful or interesting that most people overlooked. He wanted to share the beauty he found. He cared deeply about the people around him. No one was a stranger to Alec. He would do anything to help someone he loved, and he loved almost everyone.

We will miss everything about Alec- the things that made us laugh, the things that made us proud, his creativity, his curiosity, his heart, and simply having him here with us. Alec leaves behind a heartbroken family and an enormous space in the hearts of all those who loved him. In the midst of our profound grief, we take comfort in knowing that Alec is now at peace and continues to be surrounded by love.
