August 27, 1943 — October 28, 2021

Celia Lee Johnson passed away on October 28,2021 at age 78 due to complications from a stroke. She was born in Atlanta, GA on August 27,1943 to William and Catherine Latimer. She spent her childhood in St. Simons Island, GA until she moved to Salida, CO when she was 15. She graduated from Salida High School and then attended Colorado State University where she majored in Sociology and was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority. Celia met Larry Johnson at CSU in 1963 and they were married in 1965. They were married for 56 years and lived in Boulder for 52 of those years. She especially loved her work in adoption when placing babies with loving families. Celia had a strong faith and was active in her church, Grace Commons (formerly First Presbyterian), where she attended for 52 years.

Through the years, Celia enjoyed attending Bible Study Fellowship, playing bridge with many friends, and she was a member of P.E.O. Chapter GB for over 50 years. She also enjoyed travelling with her family back to her original home on St. Simons Island, and vacation homes in Grand Lake, Co and Tucson, AZ. Celia will be missed by so many loving friends and family who enjoyed her loving care, her easy laugh and her quick mind.

Celia is preceded in death by her parents, William and Catherine Latimer. She is survived by her husband, Larry, her daughter, Linae (Tom) Holcombe, her son Lance (Allison) Johnson and her grandchildren, Sophie and Tyler (Linae and Tom’s children).
