Fumiko Mori Halloran,77, of Niwot, Colorado passed away on November 2, 2021. Fumiko was born on January 11, 1944 in Nagasaki, Japan to Masuo and Hisako Mori. She earned a bachelor's degree from Kyoto University and a Master's degree from Columbia University. Richard and Fumiko were married in Washington D.C. on November 11, 1978. She was the author of weekly articles and several books about the US and Japan, the first of which won Japan's prestigious Oya Soichi Award for best nonfiction work. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard and step-son, Christopher Halloran. Fumiko is survived by her step-children, Laura Halloran Wilkason and Catherine Halloran Cook, and grandchildren, Colby Wilkason, T.J. Wilkason, Everett Cook, Anderson Cook, and Virginia Cook.Contributions may be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research. Mass of Christian Burial will be at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church on Tuesday, November 16 at 10:00. Interment will be at Fort Logan National Cemetery on Wednesday, November 17 at noon.
