Jack Persinger was born March 16 1939 in Merom Indiana the second of eight children born to Paul "Hoot" Persinger and Geneva Usrey. He died on January 23rd at Boulder Community Hospital.
After graduation from St Bernice High school in St Bernice Indiana Jack joined the Army. He was stationed in Korea where he was a supply clerk to the commanding officer and played basketball on the base's team. He once told his granddaughter Carly that "the Army was one of the best things to ever happen to me."
After being honorably discharged from the Army he enrolled at Southwestern College in Winfield Kansas where he played basketball. It was at Southwestern that he met and married Phyllis Turley in 1964.
The couple moved to Boulder Colorado in 1966 then to Lafayette Colorado in 1971. Jack worked for Woolco and Montgomery Ward as a department manager before spending 20+ years at Public Service Company/Excel Energy where he took early retirement in 1993. The couple divorced in 1995.
In Jack's 32 years of retirement he loved volunteering at Indian Peaks golf course as a ranger, playing golf with his Sunday group, his Indian Peaks group and with anyone he could find to play golf with. He loved fishing, karaoke, and "making his rounds" every afternoon to the Tri-City Elks Lodge and Louisville American Legion to enjoy his many friends.
Jack is survived by his son Mike, daughter in law Lori, granddaughter Carly, sister Jane and Brother Jim.
Service and reception with be held 1PM, February 20th 2026 at the Tri-City Elks Lodge, 525 Main St, Louisville CO 80027
