Janet Anne Meadows

Janet (Jan) Stengel Meadows, age 81, passed away in her home in Loveland, Colorado August 30, 2026. A memorial service in her honor will take place at 1:30 pm on Saturday, October 17, 2026 at Boulder Friends Meeting, 1825 Upland, Boulder, CO. Jan is survived by one older sister and several nieces and nephews who live in Illinois and California. Her husband of 47 years, John Meadows, died in 2019. Their remains will be buried in Mt. Morris, Ill., her hometown.

Jan taught music classes at Bear Creek Elementary School in Boulder for 10 years and was a business woman after that, selling personal health products via word of mouth. She loved concert going, harp playing, and choral singing, the latter at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Boulder for over 30 years. She and John fished, hiked, traveled, and visited with family members far and wide, besides closer-to-home joys of gardening, baking, and eating on the deck of their Open-space facing S. Boulder home.

Jan was very religious and believed that a positive spirit was most important in life. She conveyed her Spirit of love and joy every day to everyone she met. This carried her through 20 years of multiple sclerosis, coupled with extreme Scoliosis, to her dying day.
