Josie Johanna Van Haute, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2026, at the age of 94 in Boulder, Colorado. Josie was born on January 16, 1931, in Koewacht, Netherlands. In the 1950s, she immigrated to Tillsonburg, Canada, with her loving husband, Frank Van Haute, where they began building a new life together. In the 1960s, Josie and Frank moved to Chicago, Illinois, and later retired in Vista, California, before settling in Boulder, Colorado, in 2010. After moving to Boulder, Josie enjoyed 15 wonderful years living at Golden West, where she made many friends and embraced an active, social lifestyle. Josie was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Frank. She is survived by her two sons: Danny Van Haute (and his wife Monica) of San Marcos, California, and Ken Van Haute (and his wife Maribeth) of Boulder, Colorado. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Trevor Van Haute (and his wife Mallory), Michael Van Haute, and Brendan Van Haute, who brought her immense joy. Josie loved spending time with her family and friends, including her extended family, sharing laughter over card games and Rummikub, and she never passed up the excitement of a day at the casino. Her warmth, resilience, and competitive spirit touched everyone who knew her. She will be remembered for her strength, grace, and the joy she brought to those around her.
