It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Linda Sue (Bassler) Patzer, who passed away on June 25, 2026, at the age of 77.
She was born on July 29, 1948, in Houston, Texas, to William Tolfree Bassler and Connie Juanita Bassler. She graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in 1966 and was a proud member of the Sisterhood of the Stephen F. Austin Scottish Brigade.
After graduation she worked as an accountant, spending her last five years working in the Western Exploration and Development division of Shell Oil Co., ending her professional career in 1979 due to the impending birth of her daughter. She then chose to dedicate herself to being a stay-at-home mother, giving her time, love, and care to raising her family. Her children always knew she would be there for them. Whether they were sick, struggling, or simply needed their mother, she was a constant source of comfort and support.
She met her husband, Arthur Patzer, in Houston in 1973, at a party that neither of them wanted to attend. That unexpected meeting became the beginning of a life they would build together, filled with family, memories, and love.
She later made her home in Northglenn, Colorado, where she created a warm and loving home for her family. She found joy in baking and sewing, sharing her creativity and care through the things she made for those around her. She was also an avid genealogist, tracing family roots back hundreds of years.
Her grandchildren brought her great joy. She cherished watching them grow, from learning to ride bicycles to cheering them on at soccer games. She looked forward to seeing all of the milestones their futures held, and the love she gave them will remain with them always.
She is survived by her husband, Arthur Patzer; her sons; Nicholas Patzer (Wife Andie Patzer) and Adam Patzer (Wife Jody Tokunaga); her daughter Kirsten Patzer; and her three grandchildren.
Though her passing was unexpected, the love, kindness, and devotion she gave to her family will continue through the memories she created and the lives she touched.
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
