Patricia Mae Dougherty

Patricia Dougherty passed away on August 24, 2026. Born January 26, 1934, in Des Moines,
Iowa, to Urban Lager and Mildred Koss Lager. She grew up in Dubuque with her sisters,
Helen and Sylvia, and graduated from Dubuque High School in 1952. She moved to California
in 1957 and worked as a stewardess for Western Airlines, where she met her future husband,
Bert. They married in La Habra, California, in 1960, then moved to Denver, Colorado, where
they welcomed their son, Scott, and daughter, Denise. The family settled in Boulder in 1964.
Patricia cared for her children until they began school, then worked as an administrative
assistant for the YWCA. She enjoyed golf, biking, skiing including St. Moritz, fishing, shopping,
and cheering on the University of Colorado football team. She made a pilgrimage to the Holy
Land with St. John The Baptist Catholic Church. She also enjoyed visiting Ireland, Italy,
especially the Vatican, Spain and Istanbul. She and Bert are lifetime members of Boulder
Country Club, where she was heavily involved in the Women's Golf League. Patricia and Bert
celebrated their 66th anniversary in January. Patricia is survived by her husband, Bert; her son,
Scott, and his wife, Amy; her daughter, Denise; her grandson, Michael, his wife, Jaclyn, and
their daughters, Elliott, Evelyn, and Emilia; and her granddaughter, Lauren Atkins, her
husband, Mike, and their daughters, Leighton and Micah.
Pat was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother whose memory will be
cherished by all who knew her. Her beautiful smile will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in memory of
Patricia Dougherty.

A Catholic Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on September 4, 2026 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic
Church, 3791 Pike Road, Longmont, Colorado.
