This is a picture of my youngest brother Pearse in happier times. Sadly, he passed away on May 11, 2026. He was 64 years old.
Pearse (or Pearsie as he was affectionally known in his youth) was born in the Bronx NY, and was residing in Loveland CO at the Green House Nursing Homes of Mirasol at the time of his death. He has succumbed to the ravaging effects of Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP) after fighting a valiant battle to hold this fatal disease at bay for many years.
Pearse was the youngest of 7 children of Pearse and Katherine (nee Daly) Meagher. Pearse is survived by his five remaining siblings- Dorren McNichols (who was also Pearse's Godmother), Colin, Kenny (Beth), Keelin (Sean Glennon) and Kerrin Reichen. He has countless friends and many nieces and nephews and grand - nieces and grand -nephews all who love and miss him dearly. He was predeceased by his parents Pearse and Katherine, his older sister Deirdra and his brothers-in-law Terry Reichen and Bill McNichols.
Pearse attended St. Nicholas of Tolentine elementary school and high school in the Bronx, NY. He eventually moved to and resided in California and Colorado for many years and resided in Atlanta, GA for many years where he was employed in various sales related positions in the Dental field. He ultimately moved to Loveland, CO for final medical treatments more recently.
Pearse loved his Irish Heritage and was a bagpiper for many years with the Kerry Pipers of the Bronx, NY. He enjoyed socializing with friends, and was always seen smiling despite any personal hardships he endured. He was a long-time member and mentor and sponsor of Alcoholics Anonymous. Many AA members have stated they owe their continued sobriety to Pearse's efforts.
Family & Friends are invited to the internment of Pearse's ashes at the Pearse and Katherine Meagher Family Grave plot in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne, NY on Saturday May 30, 2026 at 11:00AM. A Celebration of his Life will be held after internment is complete at Rios Restaurant at 886 Commerce Street, Thornwood, NY 10504.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Pearse's memory to CUREPSP (https://www.psp.org), a cause he felt strongly about. This disease is what ultimately killed him.
May he rest in peace.
