Robert Allen (Bob) Kretsch, age 77, passed away unexpectedly on May 7th, 2024, doing what he loved, playing tennis with dear friends. Bob was born and raised in Plymouth, Wisconsin, the son of Eugene and MaryAnn Kretsch. He was the oldest of five children. Bob attended Plymouth High School, graduating in 1966 and then enrolled at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he majored in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science. Upon his graduation he moved to Chicago and worked for Bell Labs. He moved to Colorado in 1971 and worked at numerous software companies as a project manager, retiring in 2015. Bob married Phyllis Stewart in 1969 and had three children, Amanda, Ashley and Justin. He married Linda Henke in 2001.
Bob enjoyed tennis, a good happy hour, sheepshead, cribbage and extensive traveling. He volunteered twice a week at the Louisville Community Food Share, an organization he avidly supported for four years. He and Linda traveled the world, they had just returned from a safari in Africa. Bob went on many memorable "sib outings" with his four siblings and was the "leader of the pack" in envisioning, planning and executing those travels.
Bob is survived by his wife Linda, and daughters Amanda Kretsch and Ashley O'Connell (Corin) and grandchildren Braedon and Jameson and his beloved dachshund Schatzi. He was proceeded in death by his son Justin, and his parents.
A Wisconsin style celebration of life will be held on June 22nd at the Rocky Mountain Tap and Garden in Louisville, Colorado from 2-5pm (tributes at 3pm) with food and beverages provided, including Pabst Blue Ribbon and brats, of course.
In lieu of flowers please donate to the Imagine! Foundation on behalf of Bob's oldest daughter Amanda (Mandy) at ImagineColorado.org, or the Louisville Community Food Share at communityfoodshare.org.
