William Wehinger

William Andrew Wehinger, age 82, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2025, in Boulder, Colorado.

Affectionately known as Bill, he was born on June 22, 1943, in Sherman Oaks, California, to Edna Marie and Leonard Wehinger. He attended St. Francis de Sales School and Notre Dame High School. Bill joined the Air Force, where he specialized in repairing and maintaining radar equipment. During his service, he was stationed in several locations, including Los Angeles, Cleveland, New York, and San Francisco. He was honorably discharged in Phoenix, Arizona, with the rank of Sergeant.

Bill married Janet Marie on August 28, 1971 in Arizona and then moved to Melbourne, Florida. After having two children, Michael and Jennifer, the family moved to Boulder, Colorado in 1981. They attended St. Martin de Porres church.

After serving in the Air Force, Bill embarked on a career writing and testing software that helped usher in the era of computing. He worked for various tech companies, including Harris, Storage Technology, and WebMD. His professional life also provided opportunities to travel, including visits to Russia and China.

He was an active participant in St. Martin de Porres' art guild and art shows. Bill painted beautiful religious icons and created many pieces of art and photography. Bill also became locally famous for his cinnamon rolls and baked goods, cherished recipes passed down from his grandmother, Edna May. His warmth, humility, creativity, and generosity left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Janet Wehinger; children Michael Wehinger and Jennifer Sanches; grandchildren Dean and Lily Wehinger; sister Gretchen Oney, and brother Jim Wehinger. He was predeceased by his parents and his brother Edward Wehinger.

Services will be held on July 30, 2025 at St. Martin de Porres church at 11:00 am.
